Ucluelet harbour on a sunny October morning.
Ucluelet (pronounced u-clue-let) is a village on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. In the language of the indigenous Nootka people Ucluelet means "people of the safe harbour".
I was born in Vienna, Austria. I was always fascinated by photography and art, but my career path led to writing first. In Austria I was a book critic and travel and culture writer. In 2007 I moved to Vancouver and brought my love for history and art to this modern, young and beautiful city. My interest in photography and the visual arts led to a new career. I work as a still photographer for documentaries and discover my new home town with my camera. In my digital paintings I express my fascination with colour and composition.
