Ancient creation myths were my inspiration for this digitial painting.
A bird, perched on a branch, looks up to a huge planet. Above the bird, a star is born. A huge, cat-like creature is looking at us. We are witnessing the birth of a new world. - The cat, bird and tree images are parts of old heraldic emblems. Their crudeness conveys an atavistic feeling.
I was born in Vienna, Austria. I was always fascinated by photography and art, but my career path led to writing first. In Austria I was a book critic and travel and culture writer. In 2007 I moved to Vancouver and brought my love for history and art to this modern, young and beautiful city. My interest in photography and the visual arts led to a new career. I work as a still photographer for documentaries and discover my new home town with my camera. In my digital paintings I express my fascination with colour and composition.
