I called this abstract “Late Winter” because the muted colours remind me of the time in the year when the snow is almost gone, but there are no flowers or grass yet. Just wet and dark soil. I framed the image with a few lines, to hold the parts together.
I was born in Vienna, Austria. I was always fascinated by photography and art, but my career path led to writing first. In Austria I was a book critic and travel and culture writer. In 2007 I moved to Vancouver and brought my love for history and art to this modern, young and beautiful city. My interest in photography and the visual arts led to a new career. I work as a still photographer for documentaries and discover my new home town with my camera. In my digital paintings I express my fascination with colour and composition.
