This is a black and white photo of the view up to the two towers auf the medieval fortress church in Weißenkirchen in the Wachau, the Danube Valley in lower Austria. The Wachau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
At the lower edge of the photo you can see the statue of John of Nepomuk, the Catholic saint who protects from floods and drowning. The Danube was and is a dangerous river.

I was born in Vienna, Austria. I was always fascinated by photography and art, but my career path led to writing first. In Austria I was a book critic and travel and culture writer. In 2007 I moved to Vancouver and brought my love for history and art to this modern, young and beautiful city. My interest in photography and the visual arts led to a new career. I work as a still photographer for documentaries and discover my new home town with my camera. In my digital paintings I express my fascination with colour and composition.
